my story.

elaine harris

Born and educated in the UK, Elaine Harris is a talent agent for artists and designers and works as an advisor to a number of private collectors in Europe. She is notably the agent of artist photographer Omar Victor Diop.

« I arrived in Paris in the late 80’s with nothing but a copy of Neville Brody’s book « Graphic Language » which remains my recommended reading for Art Directors. I began working in an advertising agency, learning on-the-job, to become an Art Buyer ».

Throughout her agency career, Elaine was most fortunate to have hired and worked with a number of acclaimed artists including
Richard Avedon, Jean-Paul Goude, Nadav Kander, Nick Knight, Guido Mocafico, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Larry Sultan and Juergen Teller.

After her extensive work as an Art Buyer and having organized gallery exhibitions with artists such as Raymond Depardon, Speedy Graphito, Satch Hoyt and Martin Parr to name but a few, she continued to work in the worlds of both advertising and fine art, with an international client list of companies and galleries in Europe, the USA, China, Cuba, as well as in Africa.

« I also had the honour of being part of the portfolio judging panel at the Rencontres d’Arles in France and at the Savignano festival in Italy and to have participated in workshops at Rencontres internationales de Bamako in Mali. »

She has recently been sharing the richness of her experience within a business and communication school.
